He is a maniac was the only room we did that evening at Trapped in Burnaby. In this scenario, you step into a classroom where something feels… off. The atmosphere is strangely zany, and you sense a hint of mischief in the air. You’ve heard whispers about the teacher who runs this place—a self-proclaimed genius with a knack for the bizarre and a wild sense of humor. As you settle in, it quickly becomes clear that this class won’t be following any ordinary syllabus. With time running out, you and your team must work together to outwit the teacher’s unexpected twists and escape before his peculiar lesson plan takes an even stranger turn. We liked the scenario because it’s well detailed, unique, and mysterious!

The decor was well done, but it was slightly damaged, which is odd because the room isn’t that old. It wasn’t the most realistic classroom we’ve seen. It looked more like a room with school themed items. It was also lacking accessories to make it feel more realistic, since most of the objects in the room were used only for puzzles. We were not expecting the final puzzle—we thought it was a brilliant idea and very unexpected! We also liked that there was music playing during the game and that the game master told the story before starting the game.

The puzzles were fun to solve and all related to the theme and story. The room relied entirely on technologie. Many puzzles had multiple steps and were quite complex. We enjoyed the variety and how unique they were. The only things we didn’t like were that there were audios between some puzzles, and they felt unnecessarily long. We also didn’t like that the answers to some questions were contained in the questions themselves; they could have hidden the answers elsewhere. Still, we really enjoyed the puzzles in this room! The hints were given through a walkie talkie.

Overall, we enjoyed the room because the puzzles were great and the decor was well done. It’s a family friendly room and is best suited for groups of 2–3 people. We were happy with our performance because we completed the room with time to spare and only asked for one hint. We liked it and we escaped!
